“Shamalamadingdong” went great… I taped a cut straw to a balloon and put a string across the room. Blew the balloon up..pinched with a chip clip. Had the kids yell “shamalamadingdong” and the balloon went flying. Good times ! l

Judging

It’s amazing to me how easy it is to judge people.

We see them, we see what they are wearing…. what they smell like… how they are acting.

And we score them. We judge them based on other people that we have know that look, and act like they do.

It blows my mind how easy it is to judge people…… until we are in their shoes.

Until it’s our kid that is being loud at the restaurant.

Until it’s our job that was just lost.

Until it’s our marriage that is falling apart.

Until it’s our sin that is exposed.

I am not making excuses, just realizing how much grace Jesus walked in where ever he went. Jesus was truly the only perfect person to ever lived, the only person that had the position and right to judge, and the only people I see Him judging are the religious hypocrites.

Matthew 7:1-5 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” (ESV)

Don’t Call It A Come Back….

Well…. the last 6 months have been a whirlwind to say the least. I have taken, for the most part, the last 6 months off of blogging, tweeting and social networking in whole to dive into my latest ministry assignment at the Foothills Foursquare Church. If you didn’t know Stacy and I took an assignment in California at a Foursquare Church let me catch you up in bullet format.

Dec 2008 – I felt my heart being tugged on to enter into full-time ministry again.
July 2009 – My friend, Cynthia Ware, gave me a call asking if the pastor at her new church could give me a call about helping their church with worship and techy stuff.
– (a few minutes later) Pastor Mark Wilson gave me a call about coming on staff at the Foothills Church to help with worship and techy stuff.
August 2009 – We visited the Foothills Church in person, the next day we accepted the offer to come and help
Sept 2009 – We moved back to California to start our new assignment.

The whole process has been amazing, and Jesus led from start to finish. We were praying for some very specific things in the next church we were apart of, and what kind of church we wanted to be apart of. And God answered those prayers. We are excited to be back in California, but miss the family we created back in Texas. We are very hopeful for the future that Jesus has called us towards, and love that we get to make new family here in Nor Cal.

I plan on posting a few times a week again, on the same topics and maybe expanding a bit. Hit me up if you want to hang out.

Look like everyone else thought it would be a good idea to goto the Fantasy of Lights (in Los Gatos) on Christmas Day evening as well !
