From the Hebrew word ‘anav meaning to be humble. It’s the idea behind God being humble and creating space to create the world. It’s a moving to the side to allow others to be themselves. All the while still being yourself.

In the Book of Philippians Chapter 2 verse 5-8 says, “ Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death – even death on a cross!” Jesus Christ is the ultimate expression of humility or “anivus”. He is the God, who stepped out of Heaven (where He was seated on a throne of power and strength), freely limited Himself to the constraints of time and space. He is the God who is everywhere, and freely took on the limitations of human flesh. He is the God who commands hundreds of thousands of Angels, but allowed evil men to crucify Him on the cross (the most painful and humiliating form of death). He is the God that made Himself a servant (nothing), so that we could be saved (and have everything)….

I strive, in all ways, to be like this Jesus they call the Christ. For in Him is found all things worthy of desire.
